Millions More Spent On Heating
the old young and ill suffered most this month as a terrible cold front settled in the UK for a good two weeks, it has also had serious implications on bills! However we battled through it as a country and although I think we could have handled it a bit better bit we did it. However it would seem that as a country we have spent just over £1.2 billion over a very short period of time, two weeks in fact, much more than a normal winter.
Working
The timing of all of this was not great because many offices were already cold thanks to the Christmas break and no one being in them. The offices were left cold for a bit of time which is why the heating was turned up to the max. So many shops did also have their heating turned up because of the weather, this was partly done to keep customers happy. On top of this many stores were getting in things like convector heater and a fan heater to keep the staff warm.
At Home
Many people has just had enough of the weather as it is and as soon as this cold front came in they just reached their limits and this is partly why everyone was just switching on their central heating. Part of the reason if not the entire reason for all of this is because ofthe snow, people were in their homes instead of at work or school.
Problems
Many families are going to find that this month their heating bill is perhaps the highest it has ever been and on top of this the government may start taxing us for all of the extra gas we are needing to get in. Of course you could just get portable heaters for occasions such as this.
